Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Child & Adolescent Diabetes Service

At the GGC Child & Adolescent Diabetes Service, we care for young people with diabetes from the Glasgow and Clyde regions, as well as those from further afield in the Oban area and the Western Isles.  Scotland as a whole has one of the highest rates for children developing diabetes and around 100 young people are diagnosed in the GGC area every year.  As a result, we are one of the largest children's diabetes services in the United Kingdom.

This website, our mobile App, and our written teaching materials are designed to help children, young people, families, and those supporting them in schools and hospitals in the management of this difficult condition.

From Monday 5th June 2023, the way diabetes clinics are held will be changing.  Full details can be found here, but it is important to note that all clinic appointments will now be held face to face, and those who come to clinic in Glasgow should go to the 6th Floor of the West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (and not the 1st Floor!).  Everyone registered with our clinic will receive a letter explaining these changes as well.  Please read about these changes by clicking here or on the button on the right.
